Now on the very next day they were hard pressed to explain

Some may understand God had another plan
So he reached down and touched Richard Lee
And the years went around from here to the China Sea

On the outside looking in the only place he'd ever been
Twelve years old and locked inside his head
When the devil came to play the devil came and stayed
He Found a voice in young Richard Lee

Said If you want someone to hear you've got to say it clear
You've got to speak out loud and tell it straight
With a rifle in his hand he'd make them understand
The world was gonna hear from Richard Lee
And shots rang out from here to the china sea

When all was said and done there were seven children gone
The TV showed them taking him away
And when the camera caught a glimpse of the smile on his lips
I felt nothing but rage for Richard Lee
